If you have made sauce, put the leftovers into an ice cube tray and freeze. When you need sauce for another meal, you already have individual portions, ready to grab and reheat in a pan. Don’t worry, your sauce will taste great even after having been frozen.

Try to add some broths or other ingredients to recipes that call for liquid in place of what it asks for. Try adding some stock instead of water, or even the water your cooked veggies in. As an alternative to milk, try using thinned sour cream, yogurt, soy milk or buttermilk. Substituting the liquid in a dish can add nutrient content, flavor or both.

Doing preparations a day before you’re going to make dinner for the family is beneficial if you are feeling overwhelmed. Try cutting up onions and vegetables, making a sauce or marinating the meat before you go to sleep in the evening. You’ll be less stressed when cooking the following day.

Cutting boards should never be immersed in water, but cleaned with a soapy sponge and rinsed off. Cutting boards should be treated regularly with specifically designed oil products.
